>>Urgent firewall firmware upgrade (11/18/2024 23:00:00 - 11/19/2024 02:00:00)

 Due to a critical vulnerability, a group of campus firewalls will be upgraded tonight starting at 11pm. This will result in two 1-minute network outages for the main campus including phones. There will also be a 5-10 minute outage for VPN and one department with a private firewall. This is to upgrade firmware due to a highly critical vulnerability.

Current and Upcoming Change Management

>>Update radius.umkc.edu certificate (08/12/2024 15:00:00)

 The radius.umkc.edu certificate will be replaced just prior to the semester, to avoid it expiring during the semester. No impact to users is expected, but there may be a prompt to accept the new certificate.

>>Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN Uninstall From On Campus Workstations (11/11/2024 02:00:00)

 Due to GlobalProtect attempting to autoconnect at logon resulting in an undesirable network state while connected through the on-campus network, we will be uninstalling it from all on-campus workstations. We are excluding all laptops and any off-campus connected desktops from this uninstall, as their connection through GlobalProtect may be necessary and desired.

>>Correction of IPsec for workstations (12/07/2024 22:00:00)

 IPsec settings will be corrected for workstations in the UMAD domain. It is working correctly off-campus for Direct Access users, but adjustment is needed when Direct Access is not active.

>>DNS Server Migration (12/18/2024 15:00:00)

 Information Services will be migrating the DNS service to new virtual servers. No configuration changes will be necessary on campus computers.
